H. Kim Lyerly, MD H. Kim Lyerly, MD, is the George Barth Geller Professor of Cancer Research and the director of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Lyerly is currently the principal investigator of the Cancer Center Core Grant, the Duke Specialized Program in Research Excellence (SPORE) grant in breast cancer, and a program project grant directed toward developing antigen specific immunity in patients with cancer. He is an internationally recognized expert in cancer therapy and cancer immunotherapy and has published over 150 scientific articles and has edited 10 textbooks on surgery, cancer immunotherapy and novel cancer therapies. He serves on the editorial board of 12 scientific journals.
Stephen George, PhD Stephen George, PhD, executive director for DCRO Statistical Center, has published more than 180 articles in the medical and statistical literature and has been a reviewer for dozens of journals. As a leader in biostatistical and clinical trials methodology, he has served in various leadership roles in public and private organizations and professional societies over the years including President of the Society for Clinical Trials; member of the Oncology Drugs Advisory Committee for the FDA; and chair of  several Data and Safety Monitory Boards for both industry-sponsored and university-based
Kimberly Blackwell, MD Kimberly Blackwell, MD, is the medical co-director of the DCRO and the director of the Breast Cancer Clinical Trials Program at Duke University Comprehensive Cancer Center.  She is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Radiation Oncology.  Her clinical research interests include early phase clinical trials, novel imaging techniques, drug delivery techniques, and predictive markers for response to therapy.  She is a nationally recognized breast cancer expert and sits on several national and international organizations including the ASCO Annual Meeting committee, NCCN grant review committee, worldwide data/safety monitoring boards, and the CALGB correlative science committee.
Michael Morse, MD Michael Morse, MD, medical co-director DCRO, is associate professor of medicine, Division of Medical Oncology. His clinical expertise includes management of gastrointestinal malignancies, and his research expertise includes the development of immunotherapies for cancer. Morse's peer-reviewed funding includes that of project principal investigator in an NCI-funded program project grant and an NCI-Avon foundation grant. He has been principal investigator of a number of investigator-initiated and industry-supported phase I and II clinical trials of cancer immunotherapy and has participated in the development of pivotal phase III clinical trials for cancer vaccines.
