Clinical Social Workers
part of Family Support Services

The two pediatric clinical social workers on the Pediatric Bone Marrow Team will be available to meet with each family prior to your child’s admission to the Transplant Unit.

The social workers specialize in determining the emotional, social and financial impact of transplant on your entire family. They will work closely with you throughout the transplant process, providing emotional support and information to help your family during this time.

In addition to providing services to individual families, the clinical social workers lead a weekly Parent/Caregiver Support Group on the inpatient bone marrow transplant unit.

The social workers will also work with each family to assist in accessing possible community resources and lodging accommodations that may be of help during your child’s treatment here.
