Submission of Abstracts

Registrants are invited to submit abstracts for presentation at the Cancer and the Environment Conference. Abstracts should represent research work that correlates environmental factors to human cancers.

Three abstracts will be chosen for oral presentation on March 31. Abstracts must conform to the stated format and must be submitted on or before March 10, 2006. Oral presenters will be notified via email by March 17.

All abstract authors (including those chosen for oral presentation) will be asked to prepare a poster for presentation at the Cancer and the Environment Conference. Poster size should not exceed 46 inches (wide) x 48 inches (high) and must be unmounted. General poster viewing will take place from 4:15 to 5:45 p.m. on March 30. Authors should be in attendance during this time to address questions from the Conference audience.

Individuals who plan to submit an abstract should first register to attend the Cancer and the Environment Conference. There is no limit to the number of abstracts that can be submitted by a single individual. Abstracts of all presentations will be made available at the Conference in the program proceedings.

Format

The length of the abstract should not exceed one single-spaced typed page (minimum type size = 10 pt; margins equal to 1/2 inch each side). Up to two figures and/or tables (total) may accompany each abstract in addition to the text. Figures and tables must be appropriately labeled and identified in the abstract text. Abstracts should be submitted as a Microsoft Word or PDF document and submitted via e-mail as an attachment to mary.ruemker@duke.edu. Abstracts to include:

1. Abstract Title
2. Author(s) (Format: Smith BA, Jones DC...)
3. Submitted by (First name, last name)
4. Affiliation(s)
