Cancer Statistical Center

Serving as a multi-faceted unit, the Cancer Statistical Center provides statistical support for Duke University Medical Center's Comprehensive Cancer Center and also functions as the Cancer and Leukemia Group B Statistical Center for institutions and oncology research nationally and internationally.  CALGB Statistical Center consists of Administration and Finances staff, a large group of Statisticians, and Data Operations, Quality Assurance, and Information Systems personnel.  It is responsible for the experimental design, study monitoring, central data management, database management, quality assurance, and statistical analysis of all CALGB studies. Other responsibilities include the development and maintenance of an information system in support of these studies and related CALGB activities. The Statistical Center has been located at Duke University in Durham, N.C. since September 1990 when Dr. Stephen George was named as the Group Statistician. Data operations and information systems (IS) functions moved to Duke in April 1992.
