Help Duke Strike Out Cancer
Thanks to your support, the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center raised more than $55,000 through Strike Out Cancer.
The Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, in partnership with the Durham Bulls, have joined together to create a unique fundraising program called Strike Out Cancer. The program is designed to help support patients and their families touched by the disease, raise awareness, and fund critical research projects.
Our 2009 sponsors, GlaxoSmithKline and Capitol Financial Solutions have agreed to make a donation to the Duke Cancer Center for every strikeout thrown by a Bulls pitcher, at home, during the 2009 season.
Durham Bulls pitchers struck out 557 batters at home this year during the regular season, meaning that the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center received $55,700 for the inaugural Strike Out Cancer campaign from GlaxoSmithKline, Capitol Financial Solutions, and Kislak Fields Family Fund.

The Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center congratulates the Bulls for winning the Governors Cup and wishes them good luck in the AAA Championship.
