Duke University Medical Center research fellows Rich Riedel, MD, and Veshana Ramiah, MD, were recently honored at the Southern Society for Clinical Investigation’s (SSCI) Oncology Fellows Forum in New Orleans. Dr. Riedel received the first place award in the clinical investigation category for his abstract entitled, “Identifying Mechanism of Resistance in Patients with Locally Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Receiving Dose-Dense Neoadjuvant/Induction Chemotherapy.” Dr. Ramiah received third place in the same category for her abstract entitled, “Gene Expression Patterns Identify Patients with NSCLC Who Are at Increased Risk of Venous Thromboembolism (VTE).” Both presented their abstracts at the annual SSCI meeting.
Dr. Riedel and Dr. Ramiah are fellows mentored by Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center member Jeffrey Crawford, MD.
