Statement of Need
This Symposium will explore diagnosis, imaging techniques and treatment options for early stage, small volume prostate and kidney cancers. Focal therapy is a relatively new method recognized as an organ-sparing, minimally invasive treatment alternative for prostate cancer, to traditional radical surgery and radiation therapy. The Symposium will present recent data concerning the pathologic and molecular characteristics of small prostate and kidney cancers, biopsy strategies to detect small tumor foci, imaging cancer within the prostate and kidney, patient selection criteria, and future directions in treatment.
Target Audience
This educational activity is designed for urologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, medical oncologists, and uropathologists.
