The Community Counts Newsletter The Community Counts is a monthly publication distributed by the Family Support Program for patients, families, volunteers, supporters, and staff. The newsletter is a fun way to share information, humor, and art within the PBMT community. What's behind the name? We chose "Community Counts" because all of us - staff, patients, families, and volunteers - are part of the PBMT Community. No matter what your role, the community's goal is to help children and families undergoing transplant. It's the common thread that binds all of us together. The word "counts" has a double meaning. As a verb, it indicates "having value and meaning," which our community does. It can also be a noun, as in a common phrase on our unit, "What are my child's counts today?" Who contributes? Many people from the PBMT community contribute to the Community Counts each month:
