Out-Patient Clinic

The McGovern-Davison Children's Health Center (CHC) is where we have our
outpatient clinic.

The PBMT outpatient clinic and Rainbow Day Hospital is located on the 4th floor.

Processors greet bone marrow patients and families when they check in for clinic
appointments.

There is a general waiting area equipped with a computer and toys.

There is a special isolation waiting room for patients either pre or post
transplant who are neutropenic.

After the patient is checked in they proceed to the screening room for weights
and vital signs.

Patients either go to the phlebotomy lab for lab draws or to a treatment room to
have a nurse draw their labs through their central venous line.

After the patient's lab draw, the nurse labels blood specimens and sends the
specimen to the appropriate lab.

Located also on the 4th floor is a dedicated lab for quick turn around of blood
counts and chemistries.

Next the patient goes to a examination room to be seen by a nurse practitioner
and physician.

Two dedicated treatment rooms are available for lab draws or other procedures.

One of the treatment rooms is equipped with Apheresis machines for collection of
stem cells or granulocytes.

There are two consult rooms for discussing with patients and families transplant
issues.

The PBMT team have a private work room.

Pharmacy prepares medications for patients
admitted to the Rainbow Day Hospital.

Last but not least, there is a Hardee's located in the T level of the CHC
for families. They may also go to the main hospital cafeteria located in Duke
Hospital North, which is adjacent to the CHC.
